My Story
I was raised in Louisville, Tennessee, and have proudly called Blount County home for over 40 years. I attended Middlesettlements Elementary School and graduated from William Blount High School. I grew up surrounded by neighbors who looked out for one another and a community built on faith, hard work, and family values. Louisville isn’t just where I grew up — it’s home. It’s where I built lifelong friendships, and where I am now raising my own family.
My mother and father were business owners in our community for more than 20+ years. Some of my earliest memories and most important life lessons came from watching my father serve his customers, build lasting relationships, and care for his team members as if they were family. He taught me the value of treating people the way you want to be treated, keeping your word, working hard, providing for your family, and giving back to the community that supports you. Both he & my mother were role models for my sister and I & we feel so very blessed & Thankful they chose to raise us in this community.
Prior to formally beginning my career, I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Business & Organizational Management from Maryville College, where I was a dual-sport NCAA collegiate athlete competing in both football and baseball. Athletics helped shape the foundation of my leadership — grounded in hard work, discipline, and dedication, with a servant’s heart. Through team sports, I learned the value of accountability, resilience, and going to bat for the people beside you. I developed a deep appreciation for what can be accomplished when individuals commit to a shared goal, work together with purpose, and lead by example.
Professionally, I bring more than 20+ years of leadership experience in human resources, talent acquisition, and business operations. I’ve served in leadership roles with nationally recognized brands, leading workforce strategy and organizational development across multiple industries and states.
Today, I work in Human Resources for an amazing Blount County–based national brand and am the Co-Founder of Connect Staffing & Executive Search, a small business built right here in our community. Throughout my career, I’ve focused on building strong teams, stewarding resources wisely, and fostering cultures of accountability and performance — guided by the same work ethic, integrity, and community values I learned growing up in Louisville.
Beyond my professional career, I’ve spent more than a decade volunteering as a youth softball coach, leading highly competitive & decorated travel teams across East Tennessee. I’ve served as Head Coach for the Stars National Travel Softball Organization and previously coached within the Knoxville Explosion Fast Pitch Organization. Under our leadership, our student athletes have competed at elite levels and gone on to earn scholarships & play at NCAA (Division I, II, III), JUCO, and NAIA programs. But for me, coaching has never been just about the wins — it’s been more about mentoring young people, building confidence, teaching discipline, and investing in the next generation of leaders in our community.
Most importantly, my beautiful wife, Alicia, and I are raising our three amazing children — Emerson, Charlee, and Bodee — right here in Louisville. Like so many families in District 10, we’re active in our church, involved in youth sports, and deeply engaged in our community.
We are committed to raising our children with strong faith and Christian values, teaching them to respect others, work hard, and love their neighbors & the place we are so proud to call home.
As your Commissioner, I believe leadership begins with listening — truly listening — and being accessible to the people you serve. I believe in transparency, accountability, responsible growth, and protecting the small-town character that makes Louisville and Blount County such a special place to call home.
Most importantly, I believe the decisions we make today should ensure that our children have the same opportunities, strong sense of community, and pride in this place that we experienced growing up here.
Raised Here & Ready to Serve!
Sincerely,
Jason & Family
